Powertrain Certificate

The Certificate in Powertrain Modeling & Control incorporates many different aspects of traditional Powertrain engineering as well as new technologies into a specialized one-year certificate program.

Certificate Overview

This certificate consists of two graduate credit courses and two non-credit seminars that can be completed in one academic year (August-May). However, students have the option of completing the certificate requirements in two years to accommodate work schedules. Three non-credit prep seminars also are available to review math concepts and software used in the two graduate-level credit courses:

  • MECHENG7236 Powertrain Dynamics
  • ECE5554 Powertrain Control Systems

In addition, two non-credit seminars must be completed from the following options:

  • Alternative Fuels
  • Automotive HVAC
  • Diesel Engine Overview
  • Diesel Engine Control
  • Matlab for Data Anaylsis
  • SIL & HIL Techniques for Automotive Control Development
